where the pipes are used to heat 

the stored product or to maintain it

at the desired temperature.

The pipes are heated by means of steam ,

thermal oil or hot water.

These pipes are usually located

in a spiral pattern on the bottom of the tank ,

but they can also be built onto the tank wall.
